Calotype

Project type

Photography

Date

April 2023

Calotype is the name of the first form of complete and fully functional photography, especially relatively simple to make, patented by the Englishman William Henry Fox Talbot in 1841. It consists of preparing a sheet of simple drawing paper treated with a salt solution and subsequently sensitized with a silver nitrate solution. It will return a negative which will then be printed in contact with another sheet prepared in a similar way. I use this technique for my landscapes but not only for any artistic representation that needs a very vintage look.
